Thank you for visiting our web site!!!
I know everyone today is looking for that special church. The one that is "different" from all the rest. But what is it that makes a church, such as ours, different from any other church? I'm not really sure that anything does. Does that answer surprise you?
Here at Lawton Heights Nazarene, we just want to be God's church. A church that loves God, loves each other, and loves all people. But that doesn't make us different. That makes us like most other churches. We may have a few things that are unique about us, but we feel that being different really isn't all it's built up to be. That's because the real, and only, true difference maker is Jesus Christ. And here at Lawton Heights Nazarene Jesus is the One we are trying to learn about, to follow, and to share with others. Knowing Him personally is what really makes the difference.
So you might ask: "What is important to you?" Here's some thoughts I would like to share with you...
A. Genuine Worship - A weekly gathering to genuinely express our love to God and to get to know Him better.
B. Real Relationships - We are not a perfect people, but we follow One who is. We want to care for and love each other by following the example found in the early New Testament church. We also feel that true relationships don't end on Sunday following the service. That's where they begin. We love getting together for prayer, fellowship meals, special times and to care for each other.
C. Word - We truly believe that the Bible is God's love letter to us. We believe that it teaches us God's truth concerning all things. It changes people lives by the message it shares. Our goal is to communicate God's Word as it is written and allow God to use it in the hearts of those who listen.
D. All people are important - whether young, middle-aged, or elderly. We love and accept all people, from every race and nationality. Everyone truly matters to God, therefore you matter to us. We want our church to consist of all ages...and we want all ages to feel the love and presence of God at work within their lives.
E. The Next Generation - We do not believe that the children are the church of tomorrow. They are the church today! Our desire is to be the examples that shows them the love of God and how good God is. We seek to lead them to Christ while still at a young age. We strive to equip them to serve God and to build them up so they can lead the church into the future.
And there is more, but there isn't any room left to share it.
We invite you and your family to come by for a visit. We have the reputation of being a friendly and accepting people. We would love the opportunity to show you why we have that reputation. It would be our honor to have you in any of our services.
If you're looking for a church home, Lawton Heights Church of the Nazarene just might be the place for you!
